Pastor Wes Lawson
Wes was raised in a Navy household that was full of Christian love and nurture. He accepted Christ as his Savior at age 9 and grew in God's grace and love. In high school Wes felt God's call for him to pursue the ministry as a music and youth pastor. He graduated from William Carey College in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Wes also attended Erskine Seminary and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary to help prepare him for the pastorate. In February 2011, Wes became the Pastor at RHBC after serving 10 years as the Associate Pastor for Music and Youth. After being in the ministry full time for over 30 years, he is excited at the possibilities and opportunities God is providing at RHBC. Wes met his wife, Janet, while in seminary. He has two children (Troy and Sarah) and four grandchildren (Annabelle, Jacob, Randi Jo, and Briar). In his free time he enjoys golf, trumpet playing, and riding his motorcycle.
Associate Pastor of Music and Education Bruce H Allen
A native of Statesboro, Georgia Bruce came to RBC in 2011 as Associate Pastor of Music and Education. After working bi-vocationally in church music ministry since 1980, Bruce answered the call to full time ministry in 2003. In doing so he ended a 29 year career in bank management.
Bruce is married to his college sweetheart, Anne. They have one daughter, Carrie, who lives in St. Louis, Missouri with her husband and two daughters. Bruce's favorite worship song is "How Can I Keep from Singing" from Chris Tomlin's album, See the Morning:
"How can I keep from singing Your praise? How can I ever say enough? How amazing is Your love? How can I keep from shouting your name? I know I am loved by the King, and it makes my heart want to sing!"
In his free time Bruce enjoys antiquing, junking, refinishing furniture, lamp restoration and repair, singing, and gardening. Sharing the message of Christ and Salvation to all is Bruce's top goal for ministry through RBC.
